Redefining Libraries: From Traditional to Multifunctional Spaces
Tuesday, June 25, 12:05, RB 209 [back to full program]
The Municipal Library of Prague is the biggest library network in the Czech Republic. There are 46 branches in the network in 16 Prague districts. The Library rules and system are the same following the claim “one library, one card”, but each branch is specific. It is focusing on place and community, mainly in activities and space for people and its equipment. Balancing these two aspects (global x local) in the Library Strategy or in everyday life is hard work. Not only fully successful sometimes. Therefore, every small (or big) success is a joy.
